From 29 December 2009, the machinery manufacturers or agents should apply the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC for CE, and also comply with relevant design and manufacturing requirements of EU directive.
The new harmonized standards list of the new Machinery Directive is published in EU Official Journal OJC 321 of 2009-12-29. The harmonized standards are the important reference for ensuring products complying with relative directives. The standards list would update constantly, so before designing any products, the manufacturer should check the latest standards list on EU official website (www.newapproach.org).
In addition, the manufacturers or agents should make sure their machinery sold in EU market already have the Risk assessment Report which can be referred to standard EN ISO 14121-1.
